Our Office Family

Laura Cure-McFarland, Executive Director

Theresa Cure, Health Services Director

Shelley Chaney, Human Resources Director

I found my way home to Bridging Family in 2016 and have not looked back. I have the privilege of doing Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Training, and dabble with accounting and billing.

At Bridging Family, they take “FAMILY” to heart as evidenced by the Office Staff, Host Homes, and Day Program. It is a privilege working with everyone here. When challenges are presented, we all sit down at the table to come up with solutions that work for the people we support and for Bridging Family. At the end of the day, you know that you played a small part in changing the lives of the people we support.

This is a company that daily leads from the heart and is inclusive and diverse in all that they do. You feel valued and appreciated every day. There is a sense of pride and belonging in all that is done here.

Something interesting about me…I have taken ballet, tap and jazz most of my life and I now sit on the Board for Colorado Dance Collective. They are a non-profit that allows people to continue dancing and performing well past their high school and college years.

Lynn Borgman, Program Director

Since 2017, I have been Program Director for Bridging Family. I have been working in some capacity with individuals with disabilities since 1990. I support our Residential Coordinator’s, DP Manager, and staff daily. Our interactions can be team building, working through crises and concerns. Making sure the individual’s benefits continue is a priority and they processed in a timely manner. With attention to the regulated paperwork our individuals continue to live with our HHP’s/FCG, access medical care, receive their personal needs money to spend and our HHP’s/FCG’s are paid for their important support. I follow up with new referrals, intakes and placement into our residential program and day program. I love the family style and cooperative discussions to solve concerns throughout Bridging Family. Having the one-to-one conversations with staff, HHP/FCG and individuals are priceless. It is great to go over to our Day Program and receive all the smiles that light up the day.

Something interesting about me: I used to play the piano, flute, and bassoon. “Used to play” are the key words.

Laura Paul, Residential Services Coordinator

Being a part of Bridging Family has been the greatest blessing I have ever been privileged to be a part of. It is often thought that we are in these positions to teach others, but the greatest lessons that have been taught are the ones my individuals have imparted to me. Thinking outside the box is quite a challenge, but oh so rewarding in the end. One of the greatest lessons I have learned is that our individuals are not helpless, they just need help sometimes. I started in this field wanting to have a positive impact on the lives of others… little did I know the impact it would have on my life.

Quote: “If you need me to be there, food is a good bribe.”

Tanya Hughes, Residential Services Coordinator

In my role as a residential coordinator at Bridging Family I have had the opportunity to be part of the lives of amazing people. I help coordinate meetings for people to ensure that they can live the lives they choose. I support the host home providers by being a listening ear when they need it, answering questions they may have, and keeping the most recent information accessible to them.

I have worked in the industry for 14 years and have had some of the most meaningful relationships of my life doing so. I began working in group homes and transitioned over to working in day program. I fell in love with seeing the people I work with genuinely enjoy their days. In my 3rd year of doing that I had the opportunity to become a manager for day program and was able to coordinate new activities that were meaningful. I loved to sing and dance and was never afraid to embarrass myself to make sure that every day was fun. I recently have moved over to becoming a residential coordinator and have enjoyed meeting new people and seeing many old friends.

While working at Bridging family I have experienced the most compassionate, understanding, loyal and caring team I have ever been around. I am proud to be a part of the team! We truly are a family!

Even though I have done this for 14 years, I am consistently learning and always trying to think outside the box…..So something I often say is,

“IM NEW!” (kind of an inside joke, but shows that I will always learn new things/ways to better the lives of the people we support)
